How Easy is it to Renew Your License Plate with Us?

What Do I Need for my License Plate Renewal?

  • Either the VIN Number or license Plate Number
  • Proof of Insurance on Vehicle
  • Valid Louisiana Driver’s License or ID

*If our customers come in with their Louisiana Renewal Notice, they can bypass presenting all the above information.

How much time do I normally have on my Louisiana License Plate?

  • Car Plates are normally good for 2 years upon Renewal
  • Truck Plates are normally good for 4 years upon Renewal
  • Motorcycle Plates are normally good for 4 years upon Renewal
  • Trailer Plates can either be good for 1 year, 4 year, or in some cases permanent

**Some truck plates may not be given 4 years of time due to the weight of the vehicle.

Late Fee or Penalty?

  • Yes, the State does charge you a penalty fee for being late!
  • The penalty goes in to effect at the end of the month of Expiration
